The gym trainer followed a user named Bhatti on Instagram for nearly two years, believing he was a social media influencer. The younger worker was similarly attracted by reels on the platform before being recruited. Both individuals ultimately ended up entangled with militant handlers across the border. Investigators revealed that handlers use curated online personas to recruit vulnerable youth.
