Himachal Man Wins Rs 58,000 After Online Seller Fails to Deliver Supplements

The Una District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in Himachal Pradesh has ordered a Delhi-based online health supplement seller to refund Rs 7,875 and pay an additional Rs 50,000 in compensation to a local customer. Complainant D R Thakur and commission members observed that failing to deliver ordered protein powder and creatine monohydrate supplements while retaining payment constituted a clear deficiency in service. The customer had booked the supplements online on June 11, 2022, after being promised delivery within seven days. After waiting for roughly 15 days without receiving the consignment, the buyer repeatedly contacted the seller, who eventually refused to supply the products. The seller failed to appear before the consumer commission or file a reply and was proceeded against ex parte.
