Manjari V Mahajan, principal of Government Senior Secondary School in Bhaleth, Himachal Pradesh, has been selected for the National Teachers Awards 2026. President Droupadi Murmu presented the awards at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on September 5. Under Mahajan's leadership, the school integrated practical lessons in waste management, water conservation, and biodiversity into everyday student activities. The institution secured the top position in Himachal Pradesh for the Environment Leadership Award in 2026 and received the Waste Warrior Award in 2025. Additionally, the school organized workshops with local artisans to revive the traditional Buggad Grass craft.
