How Cab Booking and CCTV Footage Nailed Tiger Shroff's Attackers
· Entertainment · Indian Express
Mumbai Police arrested three men who opened fire at actor Tiger Shroff on Sunday after tracing them through a cab booking and CCTV footage. The accused had kept their phones switched off while moving across the city to evade tracking. One of the men switched on his phone outside Borivali railway station on Sunday night to book a cab to Surat. When the vehicle failed to arrive, he called the driver to direct him to their location, giving police the crucial technical lead. Investigators tracked the cabbie, reviewed station footage, and traced the suspects to a Pune-Jaipur train before alerting Kota police to make the arrest.
Why it matters
The swift arrest highlights how digital footprints and public transport records remain critical in high-profile criminal investigations, even when suspects attempt to evade surveillance.
