How Residential Programme NLSP Is Powering Rural Law Dreams

Started in 2019 as a collaboration between Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti and alumnus Anoop Maurya, the National Law Scholars Programme is a fully funded two-year residential initiative. The programme identifies promising students at Navodaya schools, prepares them for CLAT, and supports them through law school. Beneficiaries include students from remote areas, such as Anshita Rani from Uttar Pradesh, Vaishnavi RK from Kerala, Vedant Deshmukh from Maharashtra, and A Taruna from Karnataka. Anshita cracked CLAT in 2022 and is currently in the final year of her five-year law course at National Law University, Jodhpur. With CLAT registrations underway, a new batch of students from similar backgrounds is preparing for the entrance examinations through the initiative.

The National Law Scholars Programme directly opens access to top-tier law schools for promising students from rural and economically disadvantaged backgrounds who lack traditional coaching networks.
