A Greater Bengaluru Authority notice to clear vacant sites led police to a decomposed body in Bengaluru, resulting in the arrest of the victim's husband weeks later. Police identified the deceased as 28-year-old Anusuya Behera, whose body was found wrapped in a bedsheet on a vacant plot. Investigators stated that her husband, 32-year-old Sagar Chandra Rawat, strangled her following a domestic quarrel over his salary and household expenses. The couple, natives of Odisha's Puri district, had married against their families' wishes and moved to Bengaluru six months prior to work at local hotels. The accused kept the body inside their home for three days before dumping it on the vacant site at 3 am on August 14. Police cracked the case after examining clothing tags, a pendant, and bangles on the unidentified body.
