Hyderabad Landmarks Illuminated in Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

Eight prominent landmarks in Hyderabad were illuminated in pink on Wednesday evening to mark the beginning of International Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Ushalakshmi Breast Cancer Foundation launched its 18th annual Paint the City Pink campaign to raise awareness. Telangana governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and surgeon P. Raghu Ram participated in the illumination event at the Lok Bhavan. The campaign, which began in 2009, has been held for 18 consecutive years without interruption. Foundation founding director P. Raghu Ram noted that Hyderabad remains the only city globally to illuminate several iconic monuments in pink on the same night for 18 straight years.
