Hyderabad Police Arrest 47 in August Cybercrime Crackdown

Hyderabad cybercrime police arrested 47 individuals across seven states in August following a series of investigations into 36 cybercrime cases. Authorities registered 65 FIRs based on complaints filed through the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP) and successfully refunded nearly ₹1 crore to victims. The arrests spanned Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, with 15 of the accused apprehended in Telangana. Police operations also resulted in the identification and removal of over 1,300 social media profiles and 2,500 advertisements linked to illegal betting and fraudulent investment websites.
