Hyundai India Announces 1% Vehicle Price Hike; Nifty Hits Seventh Loss
· Business · Economic Times, RushLane
Indian equity markets fell for the seventh straight session, with the Nifty 50 ending at 24,078.30, a decline of 76.60 points or 0.32%. Hyundai Motor India will raise prices by up to 1% across its model range from September 2026, citing higher input and commodity costs, operational expenses and ongoing geopolitical uncertainties. BSE signed an agreement with MSCI to offer index futures and options, while Aditya Infotech approved a fundraising round that could raise up to ₹1,500 crore through public issue or QIP. Other corporate actions include HEG, Ceigall India and Hexaware Technologies. Technical analysis shows Nifty support near 24,000; failure to stay above this could push the index lower, according to senior technical analyst Rupak De.
Why it matters
Hyundai’s price increase could raise vehicle costs for Indian buyers and affect the company’s sales outlook. The Nifty’s extended downturn adds uncertainty for investors and could influence trading volumes in Indian equities.
