The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore has secured the top position among Indian institutions, ranking 254th globally in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027. The university achieved an overall score of 57.0, with a notable score of 98.0 in the research environment indicator. Globally, the University of Oxford maintained its first-place ranking for the 11th consecutive year, followed by MIT and Princeton. Other Indian institutions, including Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences and Shoolini University, also appeared in the rankings. The 2027 edition evaluated 2,297 universities across 118 countries.
