Imran Khan had bandage over eye, taken through dark hospital: Sister breaks down
· World · India Today, NDTV, Indian Express
Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was transported from Adiala Jail to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad on Friday for an eye and blood pressure examination. His sister, Dr. Uzma Khan, alleged that he was moved through a dark hospital facility using mobile phone light and claimed he had a bandage over one eye. She further alleged that Khan is being subjected to solitary confinement and torture, stating that no blood tests were performed during the visit. The medical transfer followed a Supreme Court directive issued on August 18, which ordered that Khan be taken to a hospital for evaluation. Khan's personal physician, Dr. Faisal, reported that he was kept waiting at a different facility, Shifa International Hospital, and did not meet with the former Prime Minister.
Why it matters
The health and treatment of the former Prime Minister remain a central point of contention in Pakistan's ongoing political instability, impacting the country's internal security and judicial processes.
