Imran Khan's Sons Claim Prison Conditions and Isolation Threaten His Life

· World · Times of India, Indian Express

Sulaiman Khan and Kasim Khan, sons of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, have alleged that prison authorities are deliberately trying to kill their father through prolonged isolation and inadequate medical care. Speaking to commentator Michael Atherton, the brothers stated that Imran has spent nearly three years in prison, with over 23 hours a day spent alone in a small cell lacking air conditioning. Kasim claimed that Imran has lost about 80 percent of vision in one eye and was recently seen wearing an eye patch. The brothers also stated their visa applications to visit Pakistan have been blocked on technical grounds, though they remain willing to risk arrest to see him. Imran Khan's priority remains securing proper medical treatment for his failing health.

Why it matters

The claims escalate international scrutiny over the treatment and detention conditions of Pakistan's jailed former prime minister.
