India and Canada to Hold Inaugural Finance Ministers’ Economic Dialogue

India and Canada will convene their first Finance Ministers’ Economic and Financial Dialogue in Toronto on August 26 and 27. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will lead the Indian delegation during her first official visit to Canada since taking office. The discussions are set to focus on strengthening cooperation in energy, agriculture, critical minerals, artificial intelligence, and advanced manufacturing. Canadian Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne will host the talks, which also aim to address sustainable economic growth and global investment trends. Total direct and indirect Canadian investment in India exceeded CA$ 110 billion in 2024.
