India and Palestine Sign Pacts for Super-Speciality Hospital in Jenin

India and Palestine signed two memoranda of understanding in New Delhi on Wednesday to establish a 200-bed super-speciality hospital and a vocational training centre. Sripriya Ranganathan, secretary for overseas Indian affairs, met with Palestinian foreign minister Varsen Aghabekian Shahin and participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the hospital in Jenin alongside Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa. The hospital will include a trauma centre and serve Jenin as well as neighbouring governorates including Tulkarm and Tubas. The training centre will be set up within the Palestinian National Printing Press to provide employment-oriented training in the printing sector. Additionally, the Indian side handed over a consignment of life-saving medicines and anti-cancer drugs to the Palestinian health ministry.

The agreements strengthen bilateral development cooperation and healthcare infrastructure in the Palestinian territories through targeted Indian assistance.
