India's women's compound archery team of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Chikitha Taniparthi, and Prithika Pradeep successfully defended their Asian Games gold medal in Aichi-Nagoya. The team defeated China 238-234 in the final at Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park, equalling the world record. To prepare for the event, the squad trained at a replica facility in Sonepat, Haryana, that simulated the exact conditions and environment of the Japanese venue. The team had previously overcome a rain delay and a close semifinal match against South Korea to secure the title.
