India dismisses Pakistan's way on Masood Azhar as phoney gimmick

India has strongly criticised Pakistan for its recent announcement of a PKR 7 million reward for the arrest or conviction of Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Masood Azhar. External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal termed the move a hollow gimmick and urged Islamabad to take concrete action instead of making performative announcements. Azhar is wanted in India for major terror incidents, including the 2001 structure attack, the 2016 Pathankot airbase attack, and the 2019 Pulwama bombing. While Pakistan retains his name in its' Investigation Agency's Red Book, it maintains that he fled to Afghanistan, a claim rejected by the Taliban government. This latest development occurs much of the Financial Action Task Force plenary in Paris.
