India Expands Asian Games Contingent to 768 Members

India's official contingent for the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games has been increased to 768 members following the addition of surfing as the 36th sport. The total number of athletes has risen from 492 to 503, with the squad now comprising 269 men and 234 women. Surfing's debut adds four competitors, while the athletics team has gained six new members, bringing its total to 79 athletes. The support staff has also been expanded to 265 members, including coaches, medical personnel, and psychologists, to ensure comprehensive assistance for the athletes. The Games are scheduled to take place in Japan from September 19 to October 4.
