India Inc Records Strongest Revenue Growth in Nine Quarters

· Business · Economic Times, Wall Street Journal, Yahoo Finance

Indian companies reported a 19.4% year-on-year revenue growth in the June quarter, marking the strongest expansion in at least nine quarters. Growth was driven by strong performances in the auto, banking, metals, and pharma sectors. Despite the revenue surge, net profit grew by 11% due to rising input costs, representing the slowest profit growth rate in a year. Smallcap and midcap companies posted significant earnings per share growth, with the Midcap 150 and Smallcap 250 reporting increases of 34% and 36.4% respectively. Excluding the oil and gas sector, which suffered from fuel marketing losses and LPG under-recoveries, net profit growth for the sample improved to 20.9%.
