India Issues Travel Advisory for Citizens in France Amid Fresh Protests
· World · Times of India, Hindustan Times
The Indian embassy in France issued a safety advisory on Wednesday urging Indian nationals living in or travelling to the country to remain vigilant amid ongoing protests and localised curfews. Citizens were advised to avoid crowded places and large gatherings where demonstrations are taking place and to monitor local news for public transport disruptions. The advisory precedes fresh demonstrations scheduled for Saturday, October 24, following riots that led to widespread destruction and thousands of arrests on October 17. French President Emmanuel Macron stated that the government will use all available legal tools to prevent violence, though a state of emergency is not required at this stage. French authorities have imposed targeted curfews in several cities following the unrest over pension reforms.
