· India · Hindustan Times, The Hindu
The Narcotics Control Bureau will initiate a year-long nationwide enforcement campaign starting in September to dismantle drug trafficking syndicates. The action plan includes 24 distinct fortnightly drives running through August 2027, focusing on apprehending fugitives, inspecting medical shops, and monitoring coastal areas. Authorities will also conduct joint inspections of jails and launch awareness programs in educational institutions. The campaign aims to supplement existing targets outlined in the Vision Document for Narcotics Control 2026-29.
Why it matters
