India is the birthplace of 19 billionaires residing in the US, the highest number for any country according to the Forbes America’s Richest Immigrants 2026 list. The US currently hosts 144 immigrant billionaires with a combined net worth of $2.2 trillion, a significant increase from $1.3 trillion in 2025. Israel and Taiwan follow India with 11 billionaires each, while China, Canada, and Iran also feature in the top rankings. New Indian-born entrants to the list include venture capitalist Hemant Taneja, Astera Labs cofounders Sanjay Gajendra and Jitendra Mohan, and Palantir CTO Shyam Sankar. The report notes that the top three immigrant billionaires, Elon Musk, Sergey Brin, and Jensen Huang, account for over 60% of the total wealth held by this group.
