India ODI squad to reach Thiruvananthapuram by September 24

India's ODI squad will assemble in Thiruvananthapuram by Thursday, September 24, for the three-match series against West Indies. Shubman Gill's team will start with the West Indies opener on Wednesday night. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will return to action, while Ravindra Jadeja will come back after being omitted from the New Zealand fixtures earlier this year. Vice-captain Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel are at the Asian Games in Japan. Nitish Kumar Reddy was withdrawn from the Asian Games to build his bowling volume, and head coach Gautam Gambhir said India could play both him and Hardik Pandya. KL Rahul is training at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru ahead of the series.
Why it matters
