India has strongly rejected references to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir made by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during his address at the United Nations General Assembly. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that no external party has any locus standi on the issue, emphasizing that Jammu and Kashmir is a matter concerning India's territorial integrity and sovereignty. During the UNGA address, Mr. Erdogan had suggested that all disputes in South Asia, including Kashmir, should be resolved through dialogue within the framework of the United Nations Charter. New Delhi has consistently maintained that Jammu and Kashmir is, was, and will remain an integral part of India.
