The group, comprising Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye, issued the statement on September 22 at the UN General Assembly, expressing concern over the May 2025 India-Pakistan conflict and terming India's strikes on terror targets in Pakistan as unlawful. The Ministry of External Affairs said the OIC has no locus standi on internal Indian matters and that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh remain integral and inalienable parts of India. The MEA described the declaration as fabricated, stating that repeated endorsements raise questions over the OIC's credibility. New Delhi also advised the OIC to counsel Pakistan, whose actions the statement linked to Kashmiri self-determination aspirations.
