India to Establish Own Space Station by 2035, Says ISRO Chief

ISRO Chairman Dr V Narayanan announced that India plans to establish its own space station, the Bharatiya Antariksha Station, by 2035. The first module of the proposed space station has already been approved as part of India's growing space program. Narayanan, speaking at the third National Space Day celebrations in Ahmedabad, highlighted India's expanding capabilities, including space-based applications in more than 50 areas, from telecommunications to disaster warnings. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the country is also working on the Gaganyaan human spaceflight mission.
