· Sports · Sportstar, Indian Express, India Today
India has been selected to host the inaugural ICC Women’s Champions Trophy, which will take place from February 14 to 28, 2027. The tournament was relocated from Sri Lanka to India after the ICC determined that Sri Lanka Cricket needed to implement reforms mandated at the July annual conference. Matches will be held at the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai and the Vadodara International Cricket Stadium in Vadodara. Six teams, including India, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka, will compete in the T20I format.
Why it matters
Hosting this marquee event provides a significant boost to women's cricket in India and offers a platform for the national team to compete on home soil.
