India to Play Key Role in Suzuki 10-Year Strategy

Suzuki Motor Corporation plans to halve its vehicle development lead time by 2030 and position India as a core manufacturing and export hub under its new 10-year technology strategy. Announced on September 25, 2026, the strategy targets an annual production capacity of four million units in India from fiscal year 2030 onward. Suzuki aims to achieve a 50% improvement in manufacturing efficiency and a 30% boost in development efficiency through digital engineering and modularisation. CEO Toshihiro Suzuki confirmed that India will serve as a primary base for producing vehicles for both domestic and overseas markets. Additionally, the company is expanding its biogas business in India with three operational plants as part of a multi-pathway decarbonisation approach.
