India vs New Zealand: Key bowlers target Rohit, Kohli
· Sports · Indian Express, India Today, ESPNCricinfo
India prepares for a five‑match ODI series against New Zealand starting in Auckland, with focus on senior batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. New Zealand’s attack, led by Matt Henry and Jacob Duffy, includes Kyle Jamieson for extra bounce and Nathan Smith for seam variation. The duo previously struggled against New Zealand’s quicks in 2019 and 2020, especially on full deliveries and in the fourth‑stump channel. Henry’s ability to swing the new ball both ways and Duffy’s partnership pose the main challenge for India’s seniors. The series is a critical build‑up for the 2027 ODI World Cup.
Why it matters
The outcome will influence India'sWorld Cup preparation and reveal how well Rohit and Kohli adapt to New Zealand's varied pace attack. Success or failure against this caliber of bowling could shape India's batting strategies and player confidence heading into the tournament.
