Indian Army Chief General Dhiraj Seth was conferred the rank of Honorary General of the Nepal Army by President Ramchandra Paudel during an investiture ceremony at Sheetal Niwas in Kathmandu on Monday. General Seth is in Nepal on a four-day official visit following an invitation from his Nepalese counterpart, General Ashok Raj Sigdel. The conferral follows a tradition established in 1950 where India and Nepal mutually award honorary general ranks to each other's army chiefs. During the visit, General Seth also met General Sigdel at the Nepal Army headquarters to discuss bilateral military ties and handed over military and medical equipment.
Why it matters
