Indian Cyber Agency Warns of Fraud via Malicious Porn Apps

The National Cybercrime Threat Analytics unit (NCTAU) has issued an alert regarding financial fraud involving malicious Android applications disguised as pornographic content. These apps, which are sideloaded from phishing websites, exploit accessibility permissions to gain control over users' devices. The fraudulent ads appear on Facebook and Instagram under names such as Night Play, Reloop, Kyss, Riva, Vima, Nexo, and Vixa. Once installed, these applications can prevent uninstallation and may deploy VPNs to route traffic for criminal activities. The agency has advised users to download applications exclusively from the Google Play Store or other verified sources.
