Indian Man Goes on Trial in Paris Over Neo-Nazi Discord Ring
· World · India Today, France 24
An Indian national living in France has gone on trial in Paris on charges of leading an online neo-Nazi network that coerced minor girls into sexual acts and self-harm. The 29-year-old defendant, Rohan Rane, allegedly administered a Discord group under a broader network known as CVLT while residing in France on a student visa. French investigators identified around 20 direct victims linked to Rane and roughly 100 victims globally across countries including the US, Britain, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, and the Netherlands. The case came to light in late 2020 after the US-based National Center for Missing and Exploited Children intercepted disturbing material involving minor girls. If convicted on charges including torture, organised extortion, and dissemination of child sexual abuse material, Rane faces life imprisonment.
Why it matters
