Indian National in US Charged With Drug Trafficking and Illegal Arms

Fifty-year-old Kawal Preet Singh, an Indian national unlawfully residing in the United States, has been charged with distributing wholesale quantities of methamphetamine. Federal authorities stated that Singh operated a Round Table Pizza restaurant in Dinuba, California, where the drug distribution took place while he was armed with illegal firearms. On August 18, federal agents searched his home and business, seizing more than 40 pounds of methamphetamine, three firearms, and over $10,000 in cash. A federal grand jury returned the indictment following an investigation into organised Indian crime in California's Central Valley conducted by the FBI and Homeland Security Investigations. If convicted on the drug-trafficking charges, Singh faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and a maximum of life in prison, along with a fine of up to $10 million.
