Gurinder Singh Gill has been charged with the murder of his 30-year-old wife Jasmine Gill after her burned and buried remains were discovered in El Dorado County, California. Jasmine was reported missing on October 4 by her cousin, four days after she was last seen. According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, the couple was going through a divorce and a child custody dispute when she disappeared. Gurinder initially told police that US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents had taken his wife away from their Sacramento home, but investigators found no record of enforcement activity. Deputies arrested Gurinder on October 14, and he is currently being held without bail.
