Indian powerlifter Keyaa Kunal Banerji won a silver medal in the deadlift event at the 2026 IPF World Sub-Junior & Junior Classic Powerlifting Championships in Sun City, South Africa. Weighing 45.70kg, the 21-year-old from Haryana successfully lifted 140kg, which is more than three times her body weight. She finished fifth in the overall standings with a combined total of 280kg, comprising a 90kg squat, a 50kg bench press, and the 140kg deadlift. A viral video of her remarkable lift circulated widely on social media following the competition. Her performance marked a significant improvement over her previous totals recorded at national championships.
