International Rescue Teams Search for Trapped Nepal Hydro-Workers

International rescue teams from India, Korea, and Australia are assisting Nepalese and Chinese military personnel in a search operation for over 600 workers trapped in tunnels along the Trishuli River. The rescue effort involves using explosives to clear paths and pumping air into the Trishuli-3A site as concerns grow over the survival of those missing. According to the country's disaster management authority, the death toll from the floods along the Nepal-Tibet border has reached 939, with 3,925 people still reported missing. Prime Minister Balendra Shah stated that 279 people have been rescued from the hydropower project sites so far. At least 11 hydropower projects have sustained damage due to the floods.
