Year-on-year inflation remains above 80 percent, with the Statistical Center of Iran recording its fifth consecutive month of record annual inflation at 66 percent for the 12-month period ending in July 2026. Data cited from the Statistical Center shows the point-to-point inflation rate eased slightly to 87.9 percent in July from 88.6 percent in June. The surge in prices has forced citizens to cut back on basic necessities such as meat, dairy, and coffee. Meanwhile, job opportunities, particularly full-time and industrial positions, have significantly declined as the economic strain mounts.
