Ireland's Jai Moondra Sets ODI Record With Six-Wicket Haul Against Namibia
· Sports · Times of India, BBC Sport
Ireland fast bowler Jai Moondra set a new national record with bowling figures of 6/26 in 10 overs against Namibia during the fourth ODI in Windhoek on Friday. The 29-year-old Indian-origin pacer helped Ireland defend a total of 298 runs to secure a 130-run victory at the High Performance Oval. Moondra surpassed Josh Little's previous record of 6/36 against Zimbabwe in December 2023 to record the best bowling figures by an Irish player in an international innings. The victory allowed Ireland to level the five-match ODI series 2-2 ahead of the deciding match in Windhoek. Moondra made his international debut for Ireland earlier this year in a T20I against India.
Why it matters
Moondra's record-breaking performance alters Ireland's bowling statistics and sets up a series-deciding final ODI match against Namibia.
