ISRO To Launch EOS-05 Earth Observation Satellite On September 4

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is preparing to launch the EOS-05 earth observation satellite aboard the GSLV-F17 rocket on September 4 at 2:55 am. Operating from a geosynchronous orbit at approximately 36,000 kilometers, the satellite is designed to provide continuous monitoring of Indian territory, weather systems, coastlines, and disaster zones. The mission marks a crucial comeback for the space agency following two consecutive failures of its Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) rocket. The launch vehicle stands 51.7 metres tall with a liftoff mass of 420.5 tonnes and will lift off from the Second Launch Pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. EOS-05 carries an estimated launch mass of 2,367 kilograms and represents India's first imaging satellite operating from geosynchronous orbit.
