Jailer 2 Review: Rajinikanth and Nelson Deliver a High-Aura Sequel
· Entertainment · India Today, The Hindu
Director Nelson Dilipkumar's Jailer 2 features Rajinikanth reprising his role as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian alongside SJ Suryah, Vidya Balan, and Mithun Chakraborty. The action film follows Tiger as he navigates a dangerous syndicate led by the Kalpak family while protecting his family. Nelson combines restrained character builds with absurdist comedy and high-octane elevation scenes. Opening with strong word-of-mouth, the sequel aims to match the massive global success of its predecessor.
Why it matters
The film's performance sets the benchmark for major South Indian cinematic releases and tests the box office pull of Rajinikanth in franchise sequels.
