External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar stated on Saturday that India's bilateral relations, particularly with Bangladesh, must be built on the principle of mutual interest to ensure smooth cooperation. The minister's comments follow uncertainty regarding a potential visit by Bangladesh PM Tarique Rahman, who has been invited by New Delhi. Addressing the ET World Leaders Forum, Jaishankar reiterated that India maintains a firm stance that dialogue and terrorism cannot coexist in its engagement with Pakistan. Regarding China, he noted that both nations have an interest in maintaining stability ahead of upcoming meetings between PM Modi and President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the SCO and BRICS summits. Jaishankar also confirmed that India continues to engage with Beijing to resolve business visa delays faced by Indian nationals.
