Jalandhar Police Register Murder Case After Woman's Remains Found

A 27-year-old mother of three was found dead on August 28, thirteen days after she left her parental home in a Jalandhar village with her live-in partner. The remains were discovered in a decomposed state and partially eaten by animals, prompting a police investigation. An FIR for murder under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered at the Mehatpur police station following a complaint from the victim's maternal aunt. A Medical Board at Amritsar Medical College will conduct a postmortem and DNA testing to determine the cause of death. Investigators are currently reviewing the events that occurred between August 15 and the date the body was recovered.
