Jammu Birthday Cake-Smearing Dispute Escalates Into Fatal Knife Attack

A birthday celebration in Jammu’s Lower Roop Nagar turned fatal when a man was stabbed to death following a dispute over cake being smeared on his face. The incident occurred around 9 pm on Thursday when the victim, Pawan Nair alias Sameer, allegedly smeared cake on the face of his friend, Neeraj alias Anshu. The gesture triggered a verbal argument that was initially pacified by mutual friends at the scene. However, Neeraj allegedly became enraged and attacked Nair in the neck with a sharp-edged weapon known as a khokhri. Nair was rushed by friends to Government Medical College Jammu, where doctors declared him brought dead. Janipur police have registered a murder case and arrested Neeraj along with his brother Rishu, while authorities work to recover the weapon and complete a post-mortem examination.
