Jefferies Increases Large-Cap Weightage in Model Portfolio, Adds Kotak Bank and Welspun
· Business · LiveMint, Economic Times
Jefferies India has increased its weightage in large-cap stocks, citing a more favourable risk-reward ratio compared to mid-caps. In its latest model portfolio report, the global investment bank raised its allocation in Reliance Industries while adding Kotak Mahindra Bank and Welspun Corp. Conversely, Jefferies trimmed its exposure to rate-sensitive sectors including non-banking financial companies and real estate. The brokerage pointed to narrowing earnings growth gaps between large-caps and mid-caps over the FY26 to FY28 period as a key driver for the shift.
Why it matters
The portfolio rebalancing by a major global brokerage signals shifting institutional preferences toward large-cap stability amid rising global bond yields.
