Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced that the state Cabinet has decided to cancel the JSSC-CGL examinations following persistent protests over paper leaks. The government also ordered a comprehensive inquiry into all errors, minor or major, that have occurred in recruitment examinations since 2014. Additionally, all examinations conducted through TDPL, a private testing and outsourcing firm at the centre of the controversy, stand cancelled. Meanwhile, candidates who had previously secured jobs through the JSSC-CGL recruitment process staged a demonstration outside the Project Bhavan Secretariat to oppose the cancellation. The protests in Ranchi have extended over weeks, involving hunger strikes and demonstrations by student groups demanding accountability.
