Jharkhand High Court Stays Govt Notification Cancelling Appointments From JPSC Exams

The Jharkhand High Court on Thursday stayed the operation of state government notifications cancelling the appointments of government employees recruited through the 11th to 13th Jharkhand Public Service Commission examinations. The state government had previously cancelled 22 examinations based on findings from an ongoing Crime Investigation Department probe into alleged irregularities in recruitments by the JPSC and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission. The personnel department had issued the notification late Tuesday following a special cabinet meeting, which also postponed six examinations and brought 17 others conducted since 2014 under investigation. This decision followed student protests demanding action over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations. People familiar with the development indicated that over 2,600 individuals who had already joined service faced losing their jobs due to the cancellations.
