Students in Ranchi have suspended their 26-day protest over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations after the state government cancelled 22 exams and ordered probes into 23 others. Three students also ended their 15-day hunger strike at the Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium on Wednesday. Meanwhile, a separate group of approximately 2,000 candidates who were previously appointed through the JSSC-CGL examination held a counter-protest against the cancellations. These candidates marched from the state secretariat to Birsa Chowk, arguing against the mass invalidation of their recruitment.
