JNU's Internal Committee found that Professor Angomcha Bimol Akoijam asked women students about their dating lives and made sexually explicit remarks during classes and vivas. The committee established a recurring pattern of conduct inconsistent with professional boundaries, citing specific questions about Valentine's Day activities and the meaning of "quickie." The committee also alleged unwelcome physical contact and late-night vivas at Akoijam's residence. JNU dismissed Akoijam with immediate effect through an order dated October 9 signed by Vice-Chancellor Santishree D Pandit.
