Actor Joanna Lumley attended a vigil in Blackheath, London, to honor the victims of catastrophic flash floods in Nepal. The floods, which occurred on August 26, have resulted in 1,252 confirmed deaths according to Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Approximately 4,200 people remain missing, including 590 foreign nationals. The United States Geological Survey attributed the disaster to a magnitude 5.2 seismic event near the Nepal-China border that triggered a glacial collapse.
