Kadapa Collector Announces Rs 600 Crore Drainage and Sewage Plan in Proddatur

Kadapa District Collector Sreedhar Cherukuri announced a Rs 600 crore development plan focused on an underground drainage system and a 24 million litres per day sewage treatment plant in Proddatur. The announcement came during a constituency development meeting in Kadapa on Tuesday, attended by Joint Collector Nidhi Meena and Proddatur MLA N. Varadarajulu Reddy. Officials stressed the importance of balanced development between the town and expanding rural areas, including upgrading rural roads. The Collector also called for a vigilance probe into housing project allocations for the poor following large-scale irregularities. Furthermore, town planning officials were directed to raise awareness among real estate developers regarding layout approvals and building regulations.
