The three accused intercepted and attacked Badauria as he returned home from a Dussehra fair; two of the accused then drove the vehicle for 1.5 km at high speed before throwing him onto the road and running him over. Badauria was first taken to a private hospital and later shifted to Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital, where he died during treatment on Wednesday. Police have arrested Rajveer and Pintu; a third accused, Mewa Yadav, remains at large, and police are examining CCTV footage and have recovered the vehicle involved.
Why it matters
The fatal attack has intensified tensions between the victim's family and the accused, who reportedly had an earlier dispute over a Nai Basti area conflict, prompting a murder investigation and ongoing police raids to apprehend the third suspect.
